Swooping
Once you become at lot more experienced both at skydiving and more importantly canopy handling you will come to learn that your canopy is not just a safety device but also a high performance flying machine and you are the pilot.
A good experienced canopy pilot is able to make his parachute swoop when coming into land and competitions are held to see which jumper is able to “surf the turf” for the longest distance.
This is often done through a set of wind blades and is known as blade running.
